County’s 2nd Annual Virtual Diversity Festival Is Underway
This Year’s Theme Is ‘Somerset County – Everyone Belongs Here’
Residents Can Share Info Online

In honor of Global Diversity Awareness Month, as of Oct. 1, Somerset County has been holding its second annual Diversity Festival online. For the entire month of October, the county is proudly providing an interactive multi-media platform for the public, which is built around this year’s theme “Somerset County – Everyone Belongs Here.”

Now the public has access to a beautifully crafted Diversity Festival Story Map – an online media platform – that allows users to explore the rich history of diverse cultures in specific locations within Somerset County. The Story Map also includes a virtual resource library, which offers interesting diversity-related information and resources for everyone to enjoy. Take a virtual tour at http://bit.ly/StoryMap2020

Story Map Submissions – Represent Your Community
Share diversity-related stories, resources and information about events and programs by submitting information through the online portal. Submissions will be reviewed by the Diversity Festival Team and then displayed on the Story Map.

Submissions should be diversity-related, which can include resources for- or topics about various ethnicities, cultures, genders, sexual orientations, ages, people with developmental and physical abilities and people of all income levels and education. Poster Contest – There’s Still Time to Enter & Win
Enter the Diversity Festival Poster Contest for grades four through twelve. First- and second-place winners in three different age groups will receive $50 to $100 gift certificates to use at the Somerset County business of their choice, courtesy of the Downtown Somerville Alliance. The deadline to enter is Nov. 2, 2020. Enter the poster contest online, at http://bit.ly/DFPosterContest2020
