Historically, in 1936 the library was transferred from the custody of the Rev. J.J. Harper of St. Luke’s Church to the Peapack and Gladstone Woman’s Club under whose able direction it prospered and grew until it became a branch of the County system in 1982. On March 15, 1983 the library was moved from its home by Liberty Park, which it had occupied since 1936, to the Municipal Complex.
