It is with profound sadness that the Borough of Peapack & Gladstone announces the untimely passing of Council President John Sweeney who departed this life on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.

Council President Sweeney served our community with unwavering dedication, integrity and passion for nearly 20 years. His legacy with continue to shape our Borough for years to come. Our thoughts and condolences are with his family, friends and colleagues during this difficult time. Borough flags will be flown at half-staff and the Municipal Building has been draped with traditional black and purple mourning bunting in John’s honor.

(Parking during each of these events will be constrained. Please consider parking at the Peapack & Gladstone Municipal building and walking to these events. The Peapack Municipal building will be closed on Monday, August 11.)
