5/17/2024 - Somerset County Park Commission to Offer Tours at Rudolf W. van der Goot Rose Garden


FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ – Explore the award-winning Rudolf W. van der Goot Rose Garden on a guided tour to learn about roses with an experienced and friendly rosarian tour leader. Participants will learn about rose care, what roses to grow in their home garden, and the fascinating history of roses. The Rose Garden is located at 156 Mettlers Road, Somerset, NJ 08873. Pre-registration is required.

Established in 1971, the Somerset County Park Commission’s Rose Garden boasts a vibrant inventory of over 3,000 roses with 345 varieties of hybrid roses, species roses, and “Old Garden Roses” that peak beautifully in June.

The Rose Garden is always free to visit and open to the public from April to October. Peak bloom is celebrated in early June with the annual Rose Day Festival. For more information on the garden’s normal hours, click here.

Registration Information & Tour Dates

Registration is required and costs $10 per person.
• Morning Tours – Sundays, June 2, and June 9, at 10 a.m.
• Evening Tours – Thursdays, June 6, and June 13, at 6 p.m.

Parking is available to visitors in Lot A.
